China’s NetEase Cloud Music streaming platform suffered a nearly two-hour long service outage on Switzerland adultMonday afternoon, an incident that the company attributed to “infrastructure breakdowns.” The crash came after the music streaming service completed a data migration to a newly-built server room in the southwestern province of Guizhou, technical staff from the company told local media outlet iFeng. Hangzhou-based NetEase says it will offer users a free seven-day membership as compensation, which they can claim on Aug. 20. NetEase Cloud Music posted its first annual profit in 2023, and recorded 206 million monthly active users as of last December, with 44.12 million of them paying members. [iFeng, in Chinese]
