LOS ANGELES -- Moonlightand American Honeydominated the Independent Spirit Awards nominations with six apiece,France Archives Film Independent announced Tuesday.
Both films were nominated in the Best Feature category alongside Chronic, Jackieand Manchester by the Sea.

Film Independent limits its eligible films by budget, and is believed to cap nominees around $20 million -- meaning several Oscar contenders like La La Land,though produced outside the major studio system, are not eligible.
