At the 2025 CCTV Spring Festival Gala last night,Singapore renowned film director Zhang Yimou collaborated with Hangzhou Unitree Robotics and Xinjiang Arts Institute to present a program titled Yang BOT. More than a dozen humanoid robots, dressed in traditional Yangge costumes and holding red handkerchiefs, took the stage and performed in perfect sync with the dancers. On stage, the humanoid robot wears a floral vest, performs the Yangko dance, and can even spin the handkerchief. Yangge is a traditional Chinese folk dance, often performed during festivals, featuring vibrant costumes, rhythmic movements, and the use of handkerchiefs or fans. Launched in August 2023, Unitree Robotics’ H1’s secret weapon during its performance is AI-driven full-body motion control technology. [Unitree Robotics, in Chinese]
