They found that it was actually best to send a message to someone between Dec. 22 and 24, presumably because we're all sitting around bored as hell with our families and looking for entertainment.
Once you've shared a witty back-and-forth, you should ask for their number between Dec. 28 and 30. Though don't rush for a high-pressure New Year's Eve date. Instead, you're better off opting for a date once the holiday dust has settled, between Jan. 4 and 6.
Here's hoping you can use this news to steer your 2018 in exciting new directions, but if it doesn't work you can always take your chances under the mistletoe.
