According to Hershey's press release, the golden candy is the first "mass-market, golden créme confection in the U.S." It's also their first new bar to hit the shelves since 1995's Cookies 'n Creme.

The senior director/general manager of the Hershey's Franchise at The Hershey Company, Melina Lewis stated in the release that the product will provide a new experience for consumers unlike the ones before it.
The announcement put people into a frenzy and made them hunger for December to come ASAP.

The candy bar will be released on Dec. 1 in celebration of Hershey's sponsorship with the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. But lucky people in Las Vegas and Pennsylvania can get their hands on it in select Hershey's locations now.
Many well-known athletes such as Simone Biles and Apolo Ono are brand ambassadors of the product in preparation of the winter games countdown.
So, let this year's stocking stuffer be filled with a new golden taste to jumpstart the new year on a brighter note.
