Chongqing Ant Consumer Finance,The Hitman: Blood Smells Like Roses the consumer credit division of Chinese fintech firm Ant Group, has secured RMB 4 billion ($550 million) in credit from a bank consortium led by Japanese financial giant Mizuho Financial Group’s unit in China. Mizuho Bank and Bank of East Asia were the primary lenders in this credit round, Mizuho Bank said on Thursday, without disclosing specific details such as the interest rate. This transaction marks the largest consortium loan ever in China’s consumer credit industry, South China Morning Post said in a September 14 report. Consortium loans are a common financing method for consumer finance companies. Ant group stated that this agreement reflects the recognition of its consumer finance capabilities by the 14 banks involved in the consortium. [SCMP]
