Chinese startup Sharge Technology has beaten major players like Xiaomi and Kairaku Jigoku no Toriko (2019)Baidu to the punch, announcing the launch of its first mass-produced AI glasses, the AI Snap Glasses A1, last Thursday. Weighing approximately 50 grams, the glasses feature Sony’s flagship 16-megapixel camera, Hi-Fi sound quality, and a Unisoc W517 chipset. The device supports integrations with more than 10 leading domestic large language model providers, including Cloudwalk Technology, iFlytek Spark, Alibaba’s Tongyi Qianwen, Kimi, and Zhipu AI. Starting at RMB 999 ($137), the glasses are positioned as an affordable AI-powered accessory. Sharge Technology, founded in 2020 by former Gree and Meizu exec Zhang Bo, initially focused on charging and storage products, successfully expanding into international markets. With the AI Snap Glasses A1, the company aims to ship 500,000 units annually, targeting over RMB 600 million ($82 million) in revenue to break even. [Jiemian, in Chinese]
